Broken Tandem

We were going to take the tandem out today on the downs for its first South Downs Way test but heading out from home there was a strange creaking noise.  Took it to a shop, they said tighten up the front bottom bracket, got the allen key out tighened up one fine.  When I tried to tighten up the other bolt the head of the bolt sheared off.  Am now writing to the manufacturer to see what they can suggest.  Our Viking Saratoga Dual Disc Tandem has been fun to ride but the qaulity on things like the nuts and bolts leaves a little to be desired (for £245 pounds though I guess it is to be expected).

I will write to the manufacturer and see what they suggest.  So instead I went out on my Scott Scale and we borrowed a bike for Clare.  Managed about 25 miles, centre of brighton up to the south downs way, along to lewes dropping through black cap.  Along the roads to Telscombe and then back along the under cliff path to Brighton.
